Welcome to the website of the Quwwat-ul-Islam Masjid. In these pages you should be able to find information about all the services we provide, the facilities available for hire, forthcoming events, prayer times and much more.

By the Grace of Allah Quwwat-ul-Islam Society was established over 35 years ago. Main purpose at the time was to provide a place for Jummah (Friday) prayer and Madrasa for the Muslim children. However, nobody envisaged at the time this was the birth of one of the key Masjid in East London and especially in Newham.

It commenced in 1975 by hiring a hall in Trinity Church Hall in East Street in Manor Park. Then as the community grew and the demand increased, some key community Brothers took the courage to purchase a property on corner of Upton Lane and Skelton Road in 1984.

Then in 1999, the community took the courage to purchase the bakery land behind the Masjid at 16 Chaucer Road, Forest Gate, London. Sole purpose was to provide a Girls’ school education.

With the help of Allah the Almighty and support from the community in August 2003 Quwwat-ul-Islam Girls’ School (Primary) was established. Initially it only had 50 pupils’ but within 2 years this had increased to 112 and by 2005 the organisation took another giant step and set up a Secondary school, both fully registered with Ofsted and following national curriculum with Islamic Ethos.

In 2006 Quwwat-ul-Islam Society also initiated Alimah education for girls which is a seven year course from 5 to 8pm, Monday to Friday. This course now has approximately 110 students studying during week evenings.

The organisation continues to grow from strength to strength and its sole purpose is to be regarded as a community which is making a positive difference within society and helping each other succeed in this world and for the hereafter. Quwwat-ul-Islam Society is regarded in East London as one of the key contributors to the community and creating a positive difference to all.

Our vision is to become a centre of excellence for Islamic learning and practice providing a beacon for both Muslims and other faith communities who wish to gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of Islam – a place where one can experience and embrace the genuine beauty of our faith.
